Tiger basketball players Jase Augustus ‘21, Carlos Stewart ’21 and Salle Wilson ’20 got a taste of the college basketball experience when they were invited to participate in the NCAA Basketball Academy at the University of Houston in Houston, Texas, July 22-28, 2019.

During the invitation-only opportunity, our Tigers stayed in dorms on the University of Houston campus and ate all meals in the campus dining hall with teammates and academy coaches. The Tigers also participated in life skills sessions, drills and games. Players were evaluated by the Division 1 college coaches who attended the camp.

A total of 2,400 prospective student-athletes, including seniors (2020) and juniors (2021), and select sophomores (2022), were chosen to participate in this year's NCAA Basketball Academy held at four regional sites. Up to 600 participants were assigned to each region with up to 300 players at each of two sessions.
