Instrumental Music

And a one, and a two...

The sound of instrumental music is everywhere at Dunham—in the music and band rooms, on the stage, and at the stadium. Students take part in a wide variety of musical activities from introductory lessons through our Lower School music curriculum and after school enrichment classes to advanced music training in Middle and Upper School. By participating in one of our four band ensembles, students become proficient at reading music and playing concert band instruments while also developing an appreciation for all genres of music.

Performance Ensembles

The Middle School Band serves as an introduction to instrumental music using concert band instruments and exploring various styles of music.  Open to students in grades 8-12, the Pep Band performs during football games and at pep rallies, parades, and community events. The Upper School Concert Band provides training in advanced music theory in instrumental technique. The Concert Band performs in concerts on and off campus and joins the Dunham Pep band at pep rallies and home football games. Students with a high level of proficiency may audition for our Honors Jazz Band, which performs in a number of venues and competitions outside of school. Several of our band students are also members of our Praise Band that leads us in music during our weekly chapel services.

With trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
- Psalm 98:6
