The Dunham School
Curriculum
Early Childhood Center (PreK-2)Learning and developing through play and hands-on exploration are the hallmarks of our new two-year-old program housed in the Dunham Early Childhood Center. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, the center's theme-based curriculum includes early literacy, phonics, math, science, technology, and gross motor skill development as well as explorations in Bible, music, movement, world languages, and art. Each child entrusted to us is cared for in a loving, Christian environment in which he or she can grow at his or her own pace. |
Lower School (PreK3-4th Grade)Our Lower School program is the perfect blend of a classical education combined with technology, innovation, and cross-cultural literacy. Students in all grades enjoy project- and inquiry-based learning in math, literacy, social and global studies, science, and Bible. Enrichment classes include Physical Education, Art, Music, Library/Media, and Spanish. As an Apple Distinguished School, students have instant access to technology, which is integrated throughout our Lower School and STEM curricula, as well as in our Innovation Lab.
|
Middle School (Grades 5-8)Our Middle School program balances academics with athletics and arts in preparation for the rigor and expectation of Upper School and college. Honors and advanced courses are available in most subject areas for gifted and high-achieving learners.
|
Upper School (9-12)Our high school program prepares students for success in college and career through academic rigor, athletics, arts, and leadership. For students seeking additional academic challenge, we offer honors courses in most subject areas, 25 Advanced Placement (AP)® courses, and five dual enrollment courses.
|
We understand that all students learn differently and strive to meet the individual learning needs of each child entrusted to us. While most of these needs are met in the traditional college preparatory classroom by teachers trained to meet a variety of learning styles and preferences, we also offer gifted and advanced instruction, tutoring, and individual courses to make sure our students reach their God-given potential.
EXPERIENCE
Dunham
With a student/teacher ratio of 8:1 and an average class size of 15, students make big connections with each other and their teachers. These strong and lasting relationships are often what our alumni say they value the most from their years at Dunham.
