Tigers Go Undefeated in NXT LVL Hoops Fest Holiday Tournament

Sophomore Carlos Stewart scored 22 points,including four 3-pointers, and Salle Wilson added 20, leading Dunham (Baton Rouge, La.) to the NXT LVL Hoops Fest tournament championship, with a 73-70 win over Whitehaven (TN).

Whitehaven’s Matthew Murrell led all scorers with 35 points as the Tigers’ rally fell short despite outscoring Dunham 31-18 in the fourth quarter.

Dunham, the defending Louisiana Class 2A champion, connected on 11 of 25 from beyond the 3-point stripe.

The NXT LVL Hoops Fest, played December 27-29 at Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, TN, featured eight of the top high school basketball programs in the country and provided some of the most competitive high school basketball in the Southeast.

On their road to the finals, the Tigers bested host Christ Presbyterian Academy 70-34 and beat defending tournament and Tennessee state champion Brentwood Academy 53-52 with a 3 point buzzer beater in the semis.


Sophomore Carlos Stewart was named tournament MVP. Tigers Jordan Wright '19 and Salle Wilson '20 also joined Stewart on the All Tournament team.
