TigerBots Win FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Competition

The Dunham TigerBots robotics team competed in the FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics competition held January 12, 2019  at The Dunham School.

The TigerBots, all middle school students, won five out of five matches during the qualifying round. As a result, they moved into the double elimination playoff round ranked in 1st place out of 19 teams, many of which were high school teams. The Dunham TigerBots fought their way through the elimination round, finishing in 1st place overall.

“Our team developed a strategy for the day and implement that strategy throughout the day. Their autonomous code was very reliable consistency scoring points for the team,” said Dunham robotics coach Ed Van Haute.  

Dunham’s TigerBots victors included 7th graders Jeremiah Blanchard, Luke Ducote,Brayden LeBlanc, Adrian Raymond, and Gus Van Haute; and 6th grader Liam Dowling. The team will compete in another FIRST competition in Slidell on February 2, 2019 and in the regional championship to be held later this year.
