Tiger QB Mike Williams '18 Named 2017 Warrick Dunn Award Finalist

January 23, 2018

Congratulations to Tiger quarterback Mike Williams ‘18 who was selected as one of eight finalists for the 2017 Warrick Dunn Award/ WAFB Sportsline Player of the Year.

Named for former pro football player Warrick Dunn— Baton Rouge native, Catholic High standout, Florida State star and former NFL Man of the Year—this prestigious award recognizes  high school football stars not only for productivity on the playing field, but also the intangibles like character, selflessness, and sportsmanship that Dunn exhibited over his long and successful playing career.

WAFB points to Williams’ contributions as key to  Dunham’s success during the 2017 season: “Dunham’s first district title in 25 years depended on “Big Mike’s” improved passing, racking up a 60% completion rate for 1,565 years and 17 touchdowns….A powerful runner, a rocket for an arm and a finalist for the 2017 Warrick Dunham Award."
