Tiger Pitcher Solomon Riley '21 Signs With Eastern Kentucky University

November 19, 2020

Tiger pitcher Solomon Riley '21 this week signed his national letter of intent to play baseball at the collegiate level for Eastern Kentucky University.

“Solomon’s character and work-ethic have allowed him to use great talent to put him in this position. We are all proud and can’t wait to see him succeed at the next level,” said Dunham Athletic Director Neil Weiner about the right-handed pitcher with a 88 mph fastball and a 1.068 ERA. Solomon has been ranked as the 10th best pitcher in Louisiana by Prep Baseball Report. Last summer, he was invited to play withTeam Louisiana, representing the state in baseball games vs other state teams from around the South.

According to his father Toja Riley, Solomon selected Eastern Kentucky University from among offers from several Division 1 programs and others for a variety of reasons: the opportunity to go away to school in another part of the country; the quality of the school, especially the finance program; the newly renovated campus and the excellent baseball program. "It's very competitive and Solomon will have the opportunity to pitch early in his college career," he said.

"We are extremely happy for Solomon and his family," said Dunham head baseball coach Wes Theriot. "This opportunity is the result of years of hard work and dedication. We look forward to watching Solomon compete for the Tigers this spring."
