Tiger Athletes Ready to Compete at Next Level

With the stroke of a pen, three Tiger seniors realized their dreams to compete at the collegiate level.

Lady Tiger basketball player Hannah Barrow, Tiger catcher Nick Harris and Aqua Tiger  Miles Jantzi signed national letters of intent before family, friends and classmates during a brief ceremony held in Dunham’s competition gym.

Hannah Barrow will continue her basketball career at Washington and Lee University, a Division III school that competes in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. At Dunham, Hannah was named to the 8-2A All District 1st Team for three consecutive years and unanimously selected as the 8-2A District MVP in her senior season. She averaged 17.4 points per game while leading the Lady Tigers to the Division III quarterfinals. Her stellar performance this season earned Hannah a spot of the on the Division III All State 2nd Team.

Nick Harris will be swinging his bat closer to home next season at LSU-Eunice, 5-time NCJAA National Champions. The senior catcher is currently batting .526 with a .591 on base percentage. To date, he  has 16 doubles and 4 home runs with 40 RBIs for the Tigers.

Miles Jantzi, one of the most decorated high school swimmers in Louisiana, will swim on the collegiate level at St. Peter’s University, a Division 1 school in New Jersey. During his LHSAA  high school career, Miles earned 6 individual Division IV State Championships in 50 m and 100 freestyle and 100m backstroke. He was named Division IV Outstanding Male Swimmer of the Meet for three consecutive years.  Miles will swim as a backstroke specialist for St. Peter’s.
