Each year, during Spiritual Emphasis Week, faculty, staff and students join together to focus their attention on a specific theme and Scripture verse. Intentional, inspirational activities across all divisions create opportunities for our Dunham community to experience the Lord anew. The 2019 theme, "LIVE OUT LOUD” comes from Galatians 2:20 : “...the life I now live, I live by faith..."

                                                  Spiritual Emphasis Week is an amazing opportunity to watch God do a mighty work that will impact the entire campus for His glory. We anticipate great things as we approach the week and ask that you join us in prayer for God to move extensively throughout our Dunham community. Our prayer is that you will embrace the opportunities to experience the Lord through this intentional, inspirational week. We look forward to what God is going to do to help our Dunham community to "Live Out Loud" for His glory.  

SPIRITUAL EMPHASIS WEEK HIGHLIGHTS

Lower School: "Superheroes of the New Testament" is the theme for Lower School chapels. Dunham chaplain Lance Hahn and Jason Wilson will show how Jesus gives us His power to be His people to make a difference for His kingdom.  TUES—FRI 8:15-8:45 a.m.

Middle/Upper School: "Live out Loud" based on Galatians 2:20 is the theme for combined Middle/Upper School chapels, presented tag team style by Young Life staffers Mike Inman (Knoxville, TN) and Drew Teague (Cookeville,TN)    TUE thru THU at 9:50-10:50 am.

NEW THIS YEAR

Dive Deeper on Thursday morning (1/24). Our SEW speakers offer Bible Studies for Middle School and Upper School students at 7 am on campus (specific locations announced through email). Not required, but are awesome opportunities for students to dive deeper into the truths discussed during the week.                                                                                

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Family Worship Night on Wednesday (1/23): Jambalaya dinner in MS gym at 5:30 pm. Worship with Dunham community in the Brown-Holt Chapel Arts Center begins at 6:30 and will include Lower School Chapel songs led by Jessi Wilson, followed by Middle/Upper School songs led by Dunham Student Praise Band. Message by Spiritual Emphasis Week speakers Mike Inman & Drew Teague.

Family Breakfast on Friday morning (1/25). Beginning at 7 a.m. in the Rollins Family Dining Hall, a breakfast bar, including a variety of options, will be available for parents and children to sit and enjoy fellowship with your students and other members of the Dunham Community. Lower School parents are invited to join their children for Chapel at 8:15 am.

Second Annual Media Fast  Middle & Upper School students, faculty and staff have been challenged to fast from media during Spiritual Emphasis Week to allow time to plug into other activities: time in the Word, deepening relationships with family and friends, being still, prayer, etc. We encourage parents to make this a family-wide fast.
