“Awakening" is the theme for The Dunham School’s annual Spiritual Emphasis Week, January 23-26, 2018.

Each year, during Spiritual Emphasis Week, faculty, staff and students join together to focus their attention on a specific theme and Scripture verse. Intentional, inspirational activities across all divisions create opportunities for our Dunham community to experience the Lord anew. The 2018 theme “Awakening” comes from Ephesians 5:14: “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”

During this very special week, we hope that the Holy Spirit will use the worship leaders, speakers, activities and prayer times awaken hearts and minds to the greatness of our good God, transforming all who participate more and more into the image of Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Emphasis Week Highlights  

Lower School “Be Equipped: The Armor of God” is the theme for Lower School chapels, presented by Dunham chaplain Lance Hahn. TUES—FRI  8:15-8:45 a.m.

Middle/Upper School "Awakening” is the theme for combined Middle/Upper School chapels, presented by Luke Johnson, Collegiate Young Life Director — TUE thru THU (see schedule). On FRI (1/26) the Faculty Praise Band, led by alum Jason Wilson '07 will lead chapel.                                                                                      

Family Activities

Night of Family Worship on Wednesday (1/24). Food trucks will be on campus beginning at 5:00 p.m. Worship begins 6:30 p.m. in the Brown-Holt Chapel Arts Center. (Music followed by message from Luke Johnson).

Family Breakfast on Friday morning (1/26). Beginning at 7 a.m. in the Rollins Family Dining Hall, breakfast bar will be available for parents and children to enjoy fellowship with each other and Dunham Community

Media Fast  New this year, all Middle & Upper School students, faculty and staff have been challenged to fast from media during Spiritual Emphasis Week to allow time to plug into other activities: time in the Word, deepening relationships with family and friends, being still, prayer, etc.  We encourage parents to make this a family wide fast.
