The Dunham School is hosting two October Open House events, designed to allow parents to see the campus, meet and visit with school administrators and, most importantly, see faculty and students at work in the classroom.

“We don’t want to tell prospective parents about The Dunham School. We want to show them what we do and how we do it,” said Michelle Pricer, Director of Enrollment Management. “Our goal is to help parents visualize their children at Dunham, being an active part of what’s happening on our campus and finding their place here.”  

The Lower School Open House, for parents of prospective students between PK3 and 4th grade, is Friday, October 20, from 9:30-11 a.m. This event is designed to help parents discover what it’s like to be a Lower School Dunham Tiger.

The Open House Showcase will take place Sunday, October 29, from 2 to 4 p.m. This event is for prospective parents of students at all grade levels from PK3 through 12th grade. Not only will parents hear about Dunham’s distinctive programs, they will see them in action.

What is the Harkness-style teaching method? What does a typical day look like for a fifth grader? How is the MacBook used in class? What athletic and fine arts opportunities exist for my student?  These questions and more will be answered during this two hour showcase.

“Both events offer opportunities for prospective parents and students to visit our campus for an overview of our curriculum, campus and community,” Pricer said. “The showcase gives you glimpses of the Dunham community in every type of setting. And attending Open House allows you to engage with other parents as you tour.”

Pricer’s goal for these events is to encourage parents to take the next step and schedule a personal visit for an interview and tour customized to the specific needs of their children and family. For more about the Admissions process, go to dunhamschool.org/admissions

“As they tour the school, I hope prospective parents and students will discover the unique attributes and qualities of a Dunham education because they have seen it, heard it and experienced it for themselves,” she added.
