John Gray Named Grand Marshal of Inaugural Mid City Gras Parade

January 12, 2018

Dunham band director and acclaimed jazz musician John Gray has been chosen as grand marshal of the inaugural Mid City Gras parade, scheduled to roll through the streets of Baton Rouge on Sunday, February 4, 2018.

"I am so honored to have been chosen as the Grand Marshal for this inaugural parade. It has been a dream of mine to be a Grand Marshall or King of a Mardi Gras Parade and I really can't believe that it has happened," says Gray. "I have long enjoyed the Mid City community of Baton Rouge and have lived here for the past six years. I'm grateful for the organizers and krewe for their involvement and efforts in bringing this parade to life for the city!"

When Gray is not teaching music at The Dunham School, the McKinley High School and Southern University Music Department graduate performs professionally with The JGrayJazz Trio, The Michael Foster Project, The Soul Jukeboxx, The Uptown Jazz Orchestra and The Treme Brass Band.
