A first-year sophomore and a fifth-year senior led the way Tuesday evening as the Dunham School opened up the LHSAA Division V volleyball playoffs with a 3-0 win over West St. John.
Janai Stevens, a middle blocker who joined the Dunham squad after moving from Tennessee, had 11 kills and four blocks. Senior outside hitter Katie Day was a steady presence with six kills and two blocks.
It all added up to a straight set win for ninth-seeded Dunham (18-15) by scores of 25-12, 25-7 and 26-25. West St. John ends its season at 6-7.
