When Dunham Athletics hosted its 4th annual Dodgeball Tournament August 9, 2018, teams of students, coaches, parents, and faculty battled fiercely for bragging rights, but Dreams Come True was the real winner.
The annual tournament, organized by Dunham faculty member and assistant football coach Randy Leindecker, benefits Dreams Come True which helps Louisiana families who have children diagnosed with a terminal illness. Dreams Director Becky Prejean was on hand to share the organization's vision and its impact on local families.
Participants donated $25 each for their chance at dodgeball glory, but it was the feisty "DodgeFathers" who emerged victorious as the 2018 Dreams Come True Dodgeball Tournament champions. DodgeFathers team members include Nicholas Cambias’19, BJ Lewis’ 19, Rhett Guidry ‘20, JC Thornton ‘21, Jackson Boswell ‘21, and Kalante Wilson ‘22.
Special thanks to Tressy Leindecker and Jamie and Jeff Purpera for their work organizing the the bracket and collecting registration. A big thank you to John Cambias and his cooking assistant Glen Godbery for the wonderful pastalaya.
