Dunham Basketball Standout Jordan Wright '19 Commits to Vanderbilt University

April 26, 2019

The Dunham School is proud to announce that senior basketball player Jordan Wright has committed to play at the collegiate level for Vanderbilt University.

An honor student as well as a gifted athlete, Wright led Dunham to a 2018 LHSAA Division III state title and two runners-up finishes in his final three high school seasons. In addition to being a three-time LSWA All-State and All-Metro selection, Wright was nominated for the opportunity to play in the 2019 McDonald’s All American Game and was chosen to tour Germany in the spring of 2018 as part of a USA Select team.

After fielding interest from a number college basketball programs across the country, Wright announced earlier this week that he had narrowed his options down to Tulane University and Vanderbilt, noting that his final decision would be based on which school he believed would help him develop the most as a person and as player.

Wright credits his parents, Tracy and Yvette Wright of Baton Rouge, and Dunham basketball coach Jonathan Pixley for providing counsel and guidance as he made his final decision. “My parents gave their opinions on the pros and cons,” Wright said. “Coach Pixley has helped me a lot in my development and I looked to him also. It comes down to what is the best fit for me.”
