Joe Hulett Named Head Baseball coach

The Dunham School is proud to announce the appointment of Joe Hulett as our new Head Baseball Coach, effective immediately. Coach Hulett has already been serving our program as Interim Baseball Coach and Assistant Athletic Director, and we're excited to make his leadership of the baseball program official.

Coach Hulett brings more than 18 years of coaching and mentoring experience to the Tiger program. Before arriving at Dunham last year, he served as Athletic Director and Assistant Baseball Coach at Evangel Christian Academy, where he helped lead the program from 2016 through 2025 — overseeing everything from student-athlete eligibility and LHSAA compliance to facilities and game strategy from the third-base box. Before stepping into that role, he spent eight years as a teacher and assistant baseball coach at Evangel, helping the program capture four state championships.

Coach Hulett's own playing career began on the diamond as a standout high school player who earned a Division I scholarship, set a school hitting-streak record, and went on to sign briefly with the Texas Rangers organization before playing for the Pensacola Pelicans in the independent leagues. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from McNeese State University.

This program carries a prestigious history of excellence built on a strong foundation of duty, faith, and honor. I look forward to continuing that legacy as we strive to compete with passion and represent Dunham at the highest level," said Coach Hulett.

His experience building programs, developing young men, and doing it all with integrity and faith at the center makes him the right man to lead our Tigers forward.

Coach Hulett won't be building this program alone. His staff will include current Dunham coaches Jeff Schexnaider, Nick Brooks '15, and Charlie Turner. Coach Hulett has also brought on Coach James Coats to lead the pitching staff. Coach Coats has served as pitching coach at Parkview Baptist since 2016.
