thAmy dykes promoted to Assistant director of the upper School.
The Dunham School is thrilled to announce the promotion of Amy Dykes to Assistant Head of the Upper School. In her new role, Mrs. Dykes will work alongside Head of Upper School Amanda McIlwain to support our teachers and students, partner with families, and help manage the division with the same excellence that she has modeled in the classroom for many years.
Mrs. Dykes, who joined the Dunham faculty in 2018, has more than 20 years of teaching experience in schools across Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Mathematics from LSU and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
In addition to skillfully teaching math to our Upper School students, she has served as Director of Math and Science, Math Department Chair, Institute of Leadership mentor, and Beta Club sponsor. She received the Liz Peters Master Teacher Award in 2023.
Throughout her time at Dunham, Mrs. Dykes has engaged students with her enthusiasm, creativity, and innovative lessons. She is always willing to go above and beyond with a cheerful attitude, and her joy for the Lord is evident to all. She and her husband, Dallas, have three children, Grace ’24, Lauren ’26, and Duke ’28.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Dykes on this well-deserved promotion.
