Elijah Haven '27 and Coach weiner named Star of stars

The Dunham School continues to celebrate an extraordinary year for its football program as two of its own have been recognized among Louisiana’s best by The Advocate in the annual Star of Stars awards.
For the second consecutive year, Elijah Haven ’27 has been named the Star of Stars Boys Athlete of the Year. He also earned recognition as Football Star of the Year following a remarkable season that highlighted his playmaking ability, leadership, and poise under pressure.
The standout quarterback accounted for more than 3,500 total yards and 45 touchdowns while leading the Tigers to the LHSAA Division III Select State Championship last fall. Already considered the top recruit in the Class of 2027, Elijah continues to bring statewide and national attention to the Tigers program.
The accolades also extended to Head Football Coach Neil Weiner, who was named the Star of Stars Boys Coach of the Year. One of the most respected figures in Louisiana high school athletics, Coach Weiner guided the Tigers through a championship season defined by discipline, resilience, and consistency.
Throughout his distinguished career, Coach Weiner has compiled more than 200 victories, multiple district titles, and numerous deep playoff runs while building Dunham into one of the premier football programs in the state. Beyond the wins, his influence has been felt through his commitment to mentoring student-athletes and cultivating a culture centered on character, accountability, and faith.
Adding to an already memorable year, the Dunham football team was also selected as a Boys Team of the Year Finalist, recognizing the collective effort and success of the Tigers throughout the 2025–2026 season.
