Not even a soggy, muggy Homecoming Night could dampen the anticipation and excitement as the 2021 Homecoming Court was presented and Dunham fans waited in suspense for the new Homecoming Queen to be announced.
Queen Sara Kathryn Breland ’22, daughter of Rory and Rebecca Breland, was crowned by 2020 Homecoming Queen Suzie Fagan ‘21 during halftime of the Homecoming football game. Head of School Steve Eagleton presented the new queen with a bouquet of roses.
Other members of the 2021 Homecoming Court included Senior Maids Sarah Brady, Brooke Houdashelt, Caroline Latuso, and Madison LeBlanc; Junior Maids Rhaia Davey, Elizabeth McDonald and Jordyn Minor; Sophomore Maids Caroline Aucoin and Averi Crawford; and Freshman Maids Mollee Day and Sheldon Gremillion.
Waiting for the new queen as she exited the field were former Dunham Homecoming Queens who had been introduced during halftime including Kristen Roth ’91, Amy Evans Broussard ’96, Brooke Landreneau Fair ’98, Amy Weiner Barham ’99; Jennifer Bollinger Franklin ’02, Alexa Haman ’15, Alyssa Barnes ’19 and Suzie Fagan ‘21.
The crowning of the new Homecoming queen topped off a special celebration-packed day in recognition of Dunham’s 40th Anniversary including a campus parade, front circle birthday salute (complete with cake), Homecoming Court luncheon, afternoon pep rally and Homecoming Court presentation, the alumni tailgate, and an overtime victory for the Tigers!
