Dunham Students Nationally Recognized as Advanced Placement Scholars ‍

Twenty-six Dunham students have been nationally recognized as 2022 Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars by the College Board based on their outstanding performances on Advanced Placement (AP) exams.

Congratulations to eight current Dunham students who received academic distinctions for their AP achievements: Jackson Ford ‘23, AP Scholar with Distinction; Reese Davis ‘23, Kari Johnson ‘23, Samay Mirpuri ‘24, and Rachel Stanger ‘23, AP Scholar with Honor; and Amelia Fargason ‘23, Jake Rizzo ‘23, and Grace Robvais ‘23, AP Scholar.

Eighteen graduates from the Dunham Class of 2022 were also recognized for their AP achievements: Madison Benton ‘22 (Samford University), Gabriel Bostick ‘22 (Duke University), Sydney Boudreaux ‘22 (LSU Honors College), Connor Eagleton ‘22 (LSU Honors College), Joshua Harris ‘22 (LSU Honors College), Kennedy Morgan ’22 (Baylor University), Patrick Murphy ’22 (Washington & Lee University), Aubrey Sorrells ’22 (LSU Honors College), and Devyani Vij ‘22 (Columbia University), AP Scholar with Distinction;  Taylor Fitch ‘22 (Xavier University), Caroline Latuso ‘22 (LSU), Hailey Malik ‘22 (Louisiana Tech University), and Catherine Van Haute ‘22 (St. Vincent College), AP Scholar with Honor; and Sarah Brady ‘22 (Baylor University), Logan Fox ‘22 (LSU Honors College), Anna Kathryn Slaton ‘22 (LSU Honors College), Emilie Stevens ‘22 (LSU Honors College), and Adele Talbot ‘22 (Louisiana Tech University), AP Scholar.

In May 2022, 79 students sat for 132 AP exams with 83% earning a score of 3 or higher on a 5 point scale, making them eligible to receive college credit, upper-level placement, or both. The average score of all tests taken by Dunham students was 3.6.

“These scores send a strong message to college admissions officers that our students are well prepared for success in their undergraduate programs,” said Upper School Director Amanda McIlwain. “Our students’ strong performances on these AP exams reflects the quality of our teaching and the growth of our AP program.

Created by the College Board in 1955, the AP program is recognized far and wide as a standard of excellence in education. The Dunham School currently offers 21 AP courses for students who are ready to tackle the challenge of college-level work.
