Current Opportunities

Band Director

The Dunham School is accepting applications for a full- or part-time Band Director for the 2024-2025 school year.  The position includes teaching responsibilities in Middle and Upper School as well as some additional evening responsibilities. The integration of faith and learning is a key component of each Dunham classroom. Candidates should be mature in their professional growth and Christian faith and should expect to serve as a role model to students. A master's degree and teaching experience is preferred. Middle School Art Instructor

The Dunham School is currently accepting applications for a full-time, Middle School Art Instructor for the 2024-2025 school year. The position includes teaching responsibilities in 5th through 8th grade art courses as well as Upper School Art I courses.  Applicants should have teaching experience, strong classroom management skills, a desire to teach in a hands-on, project-based classroom environment, and should be eager to serve as a role model, mature in their professional growth and Christian faith. A master's degree and teaching experience in independent schools is preferred. Interested candidates should send a resume to the Head of Middle School Mary Theriot.

Middle School English Teacher

The Dunham School is accepting applications for a full-time middle school English teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Middle School History Teacher

Kindergarten - 2nd Grade Compensation Teacher (McKay Academic Center)

The McKay Academic Center of The Dunham School is accepting applications for a full-time elementary teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The position includes
teaching responsibilities in kindergarten through 2nd grade. Applicants should have teaching experience and a desire to teach students with exceptionalities, with an emphasis on assessing students’ skills and educational needs, adapting lesson plans to meet each student’s individualized needs, tracking students’ performance, developing, modifying, and updating student action plans, and discussing students’ progress with their other teachers and parents.

The McKay Academic Center offers a limited number of compensation classes designed for students who require a more comprehensive, specialized classroom environment due to specific learning differences such as high-functioning autism, sensory integration disorders, language-based differences, and pervasive developmental delays.

The ideal candidate should be able to meet students' learning needs through differentiated instruction, creative lesson design that balances content, skill, and student self-direction through various instructional methods, and an appreciation for and understanding of the early elementary student with exceptionalities. Integrating faith and learning is a key component of each Dunham classroom. Candidates should expect to be role models to students who mature in their professional growth and Christian faith. A master's degree in special education and teaching experience in independent schools is preferred. 5th & 6th Grade Math and Science Compensation Teacher (McKay Academic Center)

The McKay Academic Center of The Dunham School is accepting applications for a full-time 5th and 6th-grade math and science teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The position includes teaching responsibilities in 5th and 6th grade math and science. Middle School Math Teacher (McKay Academic Center)

The McKay Academic Center of The Dunham School is accepting applications for a full-time middle school math teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The position
includes teaching responsibilities in 5th through 8th grade math. Applicants should have teaching experience and a desire to teach, with an emphasis on inspiring students to understand and acquire foundational math skills and concepts necessary for success in math courses. The ideal candidate should be able to meet students' learning needs through differentiated instruction, creative lesson design that balances content, skill, and student self-direction through various instructional methods, and an appreciation for and understanding of middle school-aged children.

Candidates should expect to serve as a role model to students who mature in their professional growth and Christian faith. A master's degree and teaching experience in independent schools is preferred but not required.
