Vocal Music

Making a Joyful Noise!

Vocal music instruction is part of our curriculum from PreK3 through Upper School. Students develop fundamental singing skills in Lower School and master healthy vocal techniques, musical notation, rhythm, and artful interpretation as they progress through Middle and Upper School. Students in all divisions have opportunities to showcase their talent in school and community performances, as well as in weekly chapel where we joyfully worship our Creator through beautiful choral music.

Choral Ensembles

Our music teachers conduct three choirs that perform on and off campus throughout the school year. The Lower School Honor Choir is composed of talented singers from grades three and four who have auditioned and been selected based on their outstanding choral abilities. Middle School students may audition for the Tiger Chorus, which performs for various community and school events. Our award-winning Upper School Choir is for a select group of students who have a genuine appreciation for choral music. In addition to the Christmas Candlelight Concert and the Spring Concert, the choir competes in regional and state competitions, including the Louisiana Music Educator’s Choral Festival held every spring.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing.
- Psalm 100:1-2
