Congratulations to Dunham alum David Patrick ‘95, now head basketball coach at University of California at Riverside(UCR), who will be the keynote speaker for the inaugural NextGen Coaches event during the 2019 NCAA Final Four in Minneapolis, MN.

Patrick, who just finished his first season as the head coach at UCR, will be sharing his unique perspective on transitioning from one of the top assistants in the country to running his own program as head coach.

Before taking the head coaching job at UCR, Patrick was regarded as one of the nation’s elite assistant coaches. Patrick got his coaching start with former Dunham coach J. P. Piper at Nicholls State University. From there he enjoyed successful coaching stops with some of the nation’s quality basketball programs — at St. Mary’s under Randy Bennett, LSU with Johnny Jones and TCU with Jamie Dixon.

In addition to being a great tactician, Patrick had developed a excellent reputation as one of the nation’s best at evaluating talent. He has been responsible for numerous Top Five recruiting classes and also spent time with the Houston Rockets’ front office.
