What was your favorite tradition of Dunham Athletics?
I used to love the pep rallys every Friday before football and basketball games. I never heard of that before coming from Australia. The school spirit was and is amazing.
What is something - advice or practice - that your coach taught you that has continued in your life today?
My Coach Jp Piper was so strict on our team in my eyes as a high school student athlete. His moto of “no excuses, get it done” is etched in my brain and my DNA for the last 30 years. Coach demanded that we represent Chapel Trafton 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. That tough love has helped me so much on my journey as a professional player, and onto coaching at the highest level. I would not be here today without his tough loving guidance.
Did you play outside of Dunham? If so, describe the transition from high school to college or professional ball.
I was blessed to earn a basketball scholarship at Syracuse University in 1995 and was a member of the National Championship team that lost in the Final four to the University of Kentucky.
I played professionally in Australia & Europe. My college degree allowed me to go on and coach first for JP Piper, and currently, I am the head coach at Sacramento State University. I also coach on the Australian Olympic basketball team and will be heading to the 2024 Paris Olympics. My foundation enhanced from Chapel Trafton has given me the ability to adapt and have success in every stop along my journey.

Chapel Trafton will always hold a special place in my heart, as it was where I found a second family and a sense of belonging.
