Favorite memory as a Dunham Athlete?
My favorite memory as an Athlete at Trafton Academy has to be winning the State Championship in both Basketball and Baseball my senior year. The Basketball State Championship was truly a team success although I was fortunate enough to make two free throws to win the game. The Baseball Championship was a team of players coming together to achieve one goal. I think about these memories all of the time, and they will stay with me forever.

How did playing sports at Dunham impact your life?

Playing sports taught me many life lessons that I use every day. Hard work, determination, goal setting, teamwork. Having played sports impacts my life every day. I also made some of my best friends to this day playing sports.

What was your favorite tradition of Dunham Athletics?

I am not sure if it is a tradition, but I will never forget coach Gary Duhe bringing the quote “You Gotta Believe” to the basketball team the first time we met him. We lived by that motto, which brought us together as one to achieve our winning the State Championship.

Did you play outside of Dunham? If so, describe the transition from high school to college or professional ball.

I was fortunate enough to continue playing college basketball at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. The transition from high school to college is a tough one because night in and night out you are playing against someone that is just as good or better than you. That makes you better.

What advice would you give to student athletes today?

Take every moment in and enjoy it to the fullest. This will be some of the best times in your life, and they will go by fast.
