Capital Giving

Building for the Future

When our founders began the daunting task of creating a bold, new school for the children of Baton Rouge, they established three pillars of purpose—academics, arts, and athletics—all resting upon a foundational faith in Jesus Christ. Their dreams formed the vision behind our continued mission to educate minds and hearts for Christ.

Under the direction of our board of trustees, our capital campaign builds on our founder's vision as we seek to raise funds for special campus projects that will help us enhance our facilities and expand our program offerings in all areas. Execution of these projects will not begin until the funds to build them have been raised. Please contact Kelly DeRossette to learn more about our capital projects, naming opportunities, and how you can be a part of building Dunham's future.

All capital donations are 100% tax-deductible.

Campus Master Plan

As outlined in our 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, the Dunham Board of Trustees has approved a 15-year campus master plan to upgrade and modernize the school's facilities, ensuring our continued ability to meet the needs of 21st century learners.

Please note that the above illustration is a preliminary drawing of our 15-year campus master plan and is subject to change based on a number of factors, including the completion of current projects and fundraising campaigns.

Current Capital Projects

Expansion of the Rollins Family Dining Hall & Exterior Refurbishment to Chapel Hall

Fundraising Goal:  $1,500,000
Currently Pledged: $20,500

Expansion of the Rollins Family Dining hall would nearly double the current seating capacity. Upgrades would include updates to the HVAC system, kitchen and service lines, paint and flooring, bricking of the metal facade of Chapel Hall, and improvements made to landscaping and exterior lighting to provide a more inviting entrance.

Project Benefits:

  • Benefits all students, faculty and staff at The Dunham School
  • Provides for more students to be served at one time, creating better lunch room scheduling and less reliance on outdoor eating spaces
  • Allows for greater opportunities to host events, creating additional revenue opportunities
  • Enhances the appeal of our lunch program to prospective students and families
  • Creates a more cohesive look to all of the buildings on campus and a more welcoming front entrance
Science Center Phase II

Fundraising Goal: $500,000
Currently Pledged: $157,600

Our science center renovation plan began in 2019 updates to the chemistry and biology classrooms located in the Carpenter-Randall Science Center. Phase II of the project will complete the renovation of the five remaining science classrooms and add enhancements that complement our robust STEM program.

Middle School and Upper School PE & Athletic Improvements

Fundraising Goal: $1,000,000
Currently Pledged: $110,100

Renovations to the Dunham Stadium will include a new entrance with a ticket office, concessions, and restrooms, new lighting, and a new sound system. This project also includes the addition of turf on a practice field used by our athletic teams and physical education classes.

Lower School Playground Complex

CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS
Fundraising Goal: $500,000 - COMPLETED

The proposed playground project will update the existing playground built in 2007. In addition to enhancing playground spaces, the project will facilitate the expansion of our physical education program with the new equipment, turf fields, multiple shaded areas, and a dedicated sensory area.

We can't wait to welcome you!
