Tiger Jordan Wright '19 Nominated for McDonald’s All American Game
Tiger basketball player Jordan Wright ’19 has been nominated for the opportunity to play in the 42nd annual McDonald’s All American Game. The 6’5’ senior guard is one of more 800 top male and female high school basketball players from across the country who are now eligible to make the final rosters for the All American Games and one of only three Louisiana players selected.
"Jordan’s nomination to play in this game is well-deserved. He is very gifted but has also worked very hard to develop his outstanding skill set. His nomination is simply affirmation of all the hours he has spent in the gym over his career," said Dunham head basketball coach Jonathan Pixley. "And the best part about this young man? He’s a far better human being than he is a basketball player."
The McDonald’s All American Games selection committee will use this list of nominees to identify the top 24 boys and girls who will play in the annual event and become part of a historic basketball legacy. Teams will take the court on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
This year, players from 46 states and the District of Columbia, representing some of the nation’s biggest rising basketball stars, were nominated by their high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee.
McDonald’s has invested in the next generation of basketball talent through their longtime sponsorship of the ultimate high school basketball all-star game. “As we head into final roster selection, we applaud these athletes for their accomplishments both on and off the court,” said Joe Wootten, McDonald’s All American Games Selection Committee Co-Chairman.
The final rosters for the 2019 McDonald’s All American Games will be revealed on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN’s The Jump and at 6 p.m. ET on SportsCenter.
Fans can watch the 18th annual McDonald’s All American Boys Game, live on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, March 27.
