Dunham One Step Closer to District 7-2A Title

Should The Dunham School follow through in two weeks with only the school’s second district championship — and first in 24 years — the Tigers will look back favorably on Friday’s 17-14 District 7-2A victory over Northeast.

The Tigers (7-1, 4-0) set up a potential winner-take-all contest at home against Episcopal after dealing with the first-half suspension of one of its top players and repelling a determined effort from Northeast (4-3, 1-3) at Doug Williams Stadium.

“We’re going into Week 10 with a chance to win a district title,” Dunham coach Neil Weiner said. “Our kids get a chance to do that and that’s pretty special.”
