Spiritual Emphasis Week
Spiritual Emphasis Week is a time for the students and faculty at The Dunham School to collectively learn, discuss, and reflect upon a common theme within the Christian faith.  The theme is integrated into the school fabric for the entire week.  While introductions to the theme are made during formal chapel gatherings and speaker presentations, the deeper work is done in the classrooms.  The faculty are encouraged to explore with the students how the views being presented relate to academic pursuits such as english, math, science, etc. and everyday life.  The desired end result is that by the end of the week, "truth" will have been earnestly sought out and found.

Spiritual Emphasis Week is not just a Dunham student and faculty event, but it also involves our family and church communities as well.  Parents are invited to a Tuesday morning "breakfast" with their children. This provides parents with an opportunity to enter into the discussion with their children, and to explore more deeply the awesome mysteries of God. 

On Friday of Spiritual Emphasis Week, our upper school students head out into the community to put into practice thru service what they've heard and experienced during the week.  Our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will use the entire body of Christ (family, school, church, and the community) to change lives for Jesus Christ.  While God is universal and global, His work is done on a one on one basis.  Spiritual Emphasis Week is one way in which we try to facilitate Him to do some business with our students and faculty.
