“Come as you are.”
The McKay Academic Center (MAC) provides a place where students who learn differently can receive the support they need to progress and succeed academically.
Realizing and appreciating the uniqueness of all children forms the core of the McKay Academic Center. Our mission is to provide each of our students the teaching and learning strategies needed to maximize his or her potential. Teaching-learning team partnerships are forged through commitment and communication between the student, parents, traditional teachers, and specialized teachers and therapists.
Our goals include skill deficit remediation, accommodations for individual learning needs, and extending strengths, all within a prescriptive plan designed for the current and particular needs a student demonstrates. Meeting challenges and differentiating plans are expectations not exceptions.
The founders of The Dunham School dedicated its existence to educating the heart and mind for Christ in a college preparatory PK-12 school. Now the opportunities for a broader selection of programs and services will make possible a Dunham education for many more students.
We are here to encourage, support and accept our students while we help them find academic and personal success.
