These classes are designed for students who possess average to superior intellectual ability but have learning disabilities that require specialized instruction in a self-contained educational environment. Through evaluations it has been determined that these students have the potential to succeed academically with the appropriate level of supervision and specialized instructional support. The goal is to teach students skills and strategies to compensate for their learning difference. Students must exhibit a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. Students with emotional disturbances, and/or disciplinary problems are not candidates for these classes.
Level I A (grades K-2) Class Limit 6 with minimum of 5; Typically ages 5-8; This is a class designed to meet the needs of students with autism spectrum disorders, Asperger’s syndrome, and pervasive developmental disorders.
Level I B (grades 3-4) Class Limit 6 with minimum of 5; Typically ages 9-12; fee This is a class designed to meet the needs of students with autism spectrum disorders, Asperger’s syndrome, and pervasive developmental disorders.
Level II A (grades 3-4) Class Limit 8 with a minimum of 5; Typically ages 9-10; This is a class designed to meet the needs of students with reading and language-based disorders such as dyslexia, auditory processing disorder, disorder of written expression, etc. and students on the autism spectrum who are high functioning academically.
Level II B (grades 5-7) Class Limit 10 with a minimum of 5; Typically ages 10-13; This is a class designed to meet the needs of students with single or multiple learning disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, non-verbal learning disorder (NVLD), etc. and students on the autism spectrum who are high functioning academically.
