The Dunham Choir program includes approximately 150 students in grades 6-12.
Middle School choir focuses on music literacy through sightreading practice and application to age-appropriate choral literature.
The Upper School choir program consists of three choirs: Treble Choir (all girls, primarily grades 9-10), Concert Choir (boys and girls in grades 9-12) and Chorale (a small, select choir of 9-12 grade boys and girls). All Upper School choirs practice sightreading through exercises and choral literature on a daily basis. Music history also is presented through the literature. At least two choral ensembles participate in District Large Ensemble festival each year, often progressing to state festival. Many Dunham students participate in All State and All Parish choirs each year. A Solo and Ensemble festival is held in the spring of each year for interested students.
Choir Concerts are held at the end of each semester. Choirs also sing for a variety of school events. The Upper choirs have performed on stage at Carnegie Hall in New York on three occasions since 2002. One of the most successful choir events is the annual Dinner Theatre. It has become a very popular and much event among choir students, their families and the Dunham community.
