Remembering A Spiritual Giant: Pastor Donald Tabb

A special message from Head of School Steve Eagleton:

Today our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of Pastor Donald Tabb, but we are comforted by the knowledge that he is with our Savior, the desired outcome of a life dedicated to Christ, family, church, and ministry.

Last year, we were blessed to have Donald Tabb open our National Day of Prayer Chapel, and we were able to recognize his faithfulness in founding The Dunham School. On that day, Pastor Tabb received the PAIDEIA Award for Pastoral Support of Christian Schooling—a fitting tribute to his dedication and service to the school. If you talked with Donald at all, he would always share how much The Dunham School meant to him.  His words then are fitting now:

“You are fulfilling the dream of five ordinary men who got down on our knees to ask God to help us start a school that would honor Him and teach our children the things that needed to be taught. God has answered that prayer. It is my privilege to be associated with what I believe is one of the greatest schools in America - The Dunham School.”

Donald Tabb dedicated his life to Christ in service to the gospel. As a founder of this school, his strong desire was for all of us to personally know Jesus as our Lord and Savior. My prayer for all of us today and in the days ahead, is to pause, stop, and be still before God. I would ask that we all truly search our hearts and take time to honor God, thank Him for our many blessings and even for the trials, and ask for Christ’s help. Through His defeat of death through the resurrection, Christ has promised eternal life to all who believe in Him and that those who pray to Him will be heard. Dunham School, be certain that you know Christ and are saved.

We are thankful for the life and enduring legacy of Pastor Donald Tabb. We pray for comfort for the Tabb, Frey, and Anderson families through this difficult time. I thank the Lord for answering the prayers of faithful men and for the founding of The Dunham school. I pray that we would all know Jesus and live with a passion and zeal for Christ.

Please take some time to view the above video from last year’s National Day of Prayer Chapel. We are blessed to stand on the shoulders of such spiritual giants as Pastor Donald Tabb, and I am thankful for the faith of the founders. May God be the God of comfort to all those who are in need of His saving grace and healing hand.
